Using The Nano Camera to Inspect an Operating Water Well

A small community in Vermont relies on one gravel-packed well to supply water to about 100 homes. In 2016, the production rate of the well dropped by 50% overnight, requiring the pump to run nearly continuously to meet the water demand. To troubleshoot the well without removing the well pump, Tri-State Drilling & Boring of West Burke, VT, used their .-inch diameter Nano camera to visually assess the well condition. As shown on the video and screen captures below, the 10-inch well screen was found to be twisted with the bottom portion of the well filled up with pack material. The unique ability of inspecting an in-use water well with the Nano camera aided the water system in diagnosing the 50% reduction in productivity.
